I’ve been to a lot of dentists, this office is by FAR the best one. Dr.McElwee is a great dentist and his assistant is amazing at her job. They’re also really good at getting patients in quickly on the schedule. 100% recommend for your dental needs. Never, ever do I write reviews. I almost don't want to write this one as I'm afraid they'll get too big and I won't be able to get an appointment! But here it goes. My husband and I became "grownups" about ten years ago, deciding it was time to take charge of our dental needs after being away from our parents umbrella for too long. We found a local place and got some work done, including beginning appointments for our 1 year old. Unfortunately, the three of us can each tell our own horror story. We got our daughter in somewhere else and he and I resumed our blissful ignorance of proper dental care. This lasted until last year when my husband's smoking took a toll on his front teeth in the form of visible black holes. This man can smash his thumb with a hammer on the job weekly but is terrified of dental work. Long story short, a friend recommended us to Dr. McElwee and we've never looked back. We both had some work ahead of us as we'd neglected it for so long but Dr. McElwee and his staff never made us feel shamed in any way. They addressed our needs in a timeline that made us feel comfortable and explained the treatment every step of the way. We both (still) go into appointments a bit nervous from past experience but the process is so smooth and painless we are truly feeling like we are in good hands now. This staff has been so caring and understanding for the last couple years I've been with them!! Dr. McElwee has only shown me compassion. Now, last year I had a hygienist who basically scolded me. This year, their hygienists and desk staff have reflected the compassion shown by the doctor. It is a small office but they make a big difference to someone like me who is hesitant towards Western medicine practices. This is why I just voted them best for the year 2022.
